    Google had three outages on its Google Apps services earlier this month - ouch! As a Premier Edition user I only noticed one of these outages and it didn't last that long for me, I guess I got lucky. This didn't bother me too badly even though I work nearly completely in the cloud through Google Apps. Maybe my pain was weak compared to that felt by others but I like using Google and although it is not an inspiring thing to be shut down for an undetermined amount of time I looked forward to using… Continue

    Virtualization is Growing

    A few years ago I had the chance to research a company that specialized in virtualization servers. My market research indicated that the timing was right for this company to deploy its products. Through surveys, IT departments were reported as being ~70% likely to invest in virtual servers in the next few years. In other words, virtualization was the next big thing. Admittedly I hardly understood the concept at the time, but had a feeling that this was important.
